Dr Frowin Becker is a conservation biologist/ecologist by training but an increasingly interdisciplinary scholar by trade. He currently works as a researcher at the Ongava Research Centre on the southern boundary of Namibia’s Etosha National Park. Frowin forms part of Namibia’s German-speaking population, whose presence in the country is a consequence of Germany’s colonial efforts in Africa. This history, and its personal proximity, have informed his more critical interpretations of conservation practices in Namibia – both past and present.
